About Sour OG

Sour OG is a hybrid bred from Sour Diesel and OG Kush. You may also see it sold as Sour OG Kush. Reviews most often mention feeling talkative, energetic and happy.

THC and potency

Public lab results give a good picture of its strength: 55 flower samples tested between 2021 and 2024 came in at a median of 20.4% total THC (the middle half ranged from 18.5% to 22.1%). CBD is typically negligible (under 0.5%). That is in line with most flower on Canadian shelves. Potency varies by grower and batch, so always check the label.

Aroma, flavour and terpenes

Its reported terpene profile is led by limonene, with myrcene and caryophyllene. Limonene is known for bright citrus-peel freshness, while myrcene adds earthy, musky notes with a ripe-fruit edge. Total terpene content measured a median of 2%. Consumers most often describe the flavour as diesel, pungent and pine.

Reported effects

Beyond feeling talkative, reviewers also mention feeling giggly and hungry. Some consumers say they reach for it when dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. The side effects mentioned most are dry eyes, dry mouth and dizziness. Sour OG, also known as "Sour OG Kush," is a popular hybrid marijuana strain known to provide a balanced high. Sour OG is made by crossing Sour Diesel and OG Kush. Sour OG has been available in clone and seed form for quite some time. Most samples express dense, round, OG Kush-type buds laden with large, sticky trichomes. The odor and taste are usually an equal mix of both parents, with sour lemon, pine, fuel, and a distinct “kushy” undertone, although some versions have a more fruity profile. Often described as a “one-hit-quit” strain, Sour OG starts with an energetic head high that gradually gives way to a relaxing body stone.
