About Jack Herer

Jack Herer is a sativa-leaning strain. You may also see it sold as JH, The Jack, Premium Jack, Platinum Jack, Jack. People who try it most often describe feeling energetic, creative and uplifted.

THC and potency

Public lab results give a good picture of its strength: 472 flower samples tested between 2020 and 2024 came in at a median of 19.6% total THC (the middle half ranged from 17% to 21.7%). CBD is typically negligible (under 0.5%). That is in line with most flower on Canadian shelves. Potency varies by grower and batch, so always check the label.

Aroma, flavour and terpenes

In lab tests its dominant terpene is terpinolene, followed by caryophyllene and pinene. Terpinolene is known for fresh, herbal brightness with hints of pine and flowers, while caryophyllene adds black pepper and warm spice. Total terpene content measured a median of 1.5%. Consumers most often describe the flavour as pine, spicy/herbal and woody.

Reported effects

Beyond feeling energetic, reviewers also mention feeling focused and talkative. Some consumers say they reach for it when dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. The side effects mentioned most are paranoia, dry eyes and dry mouth. These are personal reports, not medical advice.
