Panama Red is a sativa-leaning strain that comes from a cross of Panama with Colombia. You may also see it sold as Red. People who try it most often describe feeling talkative, energetic and happy.
Public lab results give a good picture of its strength: 6 flower samples tested between 2020 and 2024 came in at a median of 6.8% total THC (the middle half ranged from 5.4% to 10.3%). CBD measured a median of 3.3%. That is on the milder side for modern flower. Potency varies by grower and batch, so always check the label.
In lab tests its dominant terpene is terpinolene, followed by myrcene and caryophyllene. Terpinolene is known for fresh, herbal brightness with hints of pine and flowers, while myrcene adds earthy, musky notes with a ripe-fruit edge. Total terpene content measured a median of 0.9%. Consumers most often describe the flavour as tea, spicy/herbal and tropical.
Beyond feeling talkative, reviewers also mention feeling creative and uplifted. Some consumers say they reach for it when dealing with depression, stress and anxiety. The side effects mentioned most are headaches, dry eyes and dry mouth. These are personal reports, not medical advice.
Parents: Panama and Colombia. Panama Red is also a parent of Compton Creek.
